Who
are we ?
OUR VISION
To create a learning environment tailored for the development of virtuous people, equipped to live well and fulfill their purpose for the glory of God.
OUR MISSION
Andaa Christian School’s Mission is to provide a holistic education, propagate a spirit of inquiry, discovery, ability to reason, and the development of the children’s God given gifts.
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
At an educational philosophy level, we strive to cultivate wisdom, virtue, and a profound love for learning among our students. Through a holistic approach, we foster a spirit of inquiry, discovery, and critical thinking that prepares them for a lifelong journey of growth and personal development
Andaa’s Philosophy of Education is built from the fact that a child is made in God’s image, and so education should ‘train them up’ (Eph. 6:4) in this image. We do this by use of a fully integrated curriculum, through formal and informal instruction and provision of resources that will be used to facilitate the rich exchange of ideas.
We aim to ground our students in the timeless truths of the Christian faith and the rich heritage of classical education while remaining attuned to the unique cultural context of Kenya and the interconnectedness of the global community. Schooling becomes about forming the child and not just informing it. The teacher seeks the child’s flourishing by focusing on his character as much as his career.
We are united in the conclusion that a Christian, classical and contextual education will achieve this best. (We already have access to curriculum and teachers aligned to this philosophy, from Rafiki School, the Pioneer Christian Classical School in Kenya)
CURRICULUM DESIGN
The Curriculum is patterned from our mission statement and educational philosophy. The Curriculum design will be based on the Kenyan Competency based Curriculum (CBC) using the Classical Christian education approach. This includes, Language Arts, Math, Science, History, Art, Music and Physical Education. For National subjects we use the best materials available for Kiswahili, CRE, Environmental Studies and History.
